FAQ

Questions, answered

Everything you might want to know before booking a call. If your question isn't here, bring it to the discovery call.

Do I need an ADHD diagnosis to work with you?

No. Many clients have a formal diagnosis, and others strongly suspect they have ADHD or are still exploring. Coaching is about how you work, not a label. I don't diagnose ADHD, so if you're looking for an assessment, a qualified clinician is the right place to start.

Is ADHD coaching the same as therapy?

No. Therapy often explores the past and treats mental health conditions. Coaching is practical and forward-looking: we focus on your goals and the day-to-day strategies that help you reach them. Coaching isn't a substitute for medical or mental health care.

Can coaching work alongside medication or therapy?

Yes, and often very well. Medication and therapy can make change possible. Coaching helps turn that into everyday habits and systems at work.

How do sessions work?

All sessions are private 1:1 video calls, so you can join from your office, your home, or wherever you work. I'm based in Toronto and work with clients wherever they are. You'll just need a quiet space and a stable internet connection.

How often do we meet, and for how long?

It depends on your goals and schedule. Most people meet regularly over several months, which gives you time to try strategies in real situations and make them stick. We'll decide on the right rhythm together during your discovery call.

What does coaching cost?

Fees depend on the length and format of our work together. We'll go through the options on your free discovery call, with no pressure to decide on the spot.

Can my employer pay for coaching?

Often, yes. Many companies offer professional development, learning, or wellbeing budgets that can cover coaching. It's worth asking your manager or HR team. I'm happy to provide the documentation they need.

Can I use my benefits or a spending account?

Possibly. In Canada, some employers offer a lifestyle or wellness spending account that covers coaching. In the US, some HSA and FSA plans reimburse ADHD coaching with a Letter of Medical Necessity from a healthcare provider. Coverage varies, so please check with your benefits provider first.

Is coaching confidential?

Yes. What you share stays between us. I never share details with your employer or anyone else without your explicit permission, even if your company is paying. The only exceptions are rare situations involving safety or legal requirements, which we'll discuss before we begin.

What happens on the discovery call?

It's a relaxed 20 to 30 minute conversation. You'll tell me a bit about your work and what feels hard right now, I'll explain how coaching works, and together we'll decide whether it's a good fit. There's no obligation and no hard sell.

What if I'm not sure coaching is right for me?

That's exactly what the discovery call is for. If coaching isn't the right fit, I'll tell you honestly and, where I can, point you toward something that might help more.
